John holds a BSBA in banking and finance from the University of Florida, and he is a graduate of the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University, the Graduate School of Commercial Lending at the University of Oklahoma, and the National School of Real Estate Finance at Ohio State University. John Tranter has over 40 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry and has served as a passionate advocate for the industry through his role as Chairman of the Florida Bankers Association, one of the largest state banking associations in the country. His leadership roles with the Florida Bankers Association included serving on the Executive Committee, the Board of Directors, Government Relations Committee, and eventually Chairman-Elect (2013) and Chairman (2014-15). Additionally, John served on the Board and as Chairman of BancServ, the FBA for-profit corporation (2010-2014). John also served on the Board, Executive Committee and eventually its Chairman (2011-2013); Independent Bankers Bank of Florida: (2005-2014). John has three grown children.

The Pine School is an independent college preparatory school educating students in Kindergarten through 12th Grade.
