  • Lower School

In Lower School, classroom teachers facilitate the instruction in Kindergarten through Third Grade in core academic subjects (ELA, math, and social studies).
Dedicated subject-specific teachers provide science, world language, music, physical education, and art instruction. Beginning in Fourth Grade, students are introduced to a semi-self-contained model with dedicated teachers for each core academic subject in addition to dedicated teachers for science, world language, and other QUEST courses. In addition to the academic curriculum, teachers follow social-emotional learning through the Random Act of Kindness curriculum.

  • Middle School

In Middle School, students are taught by subject-specific teachers in all subject areas from Fifth Grade through Eighth Grade.
In many instances, Middle School students will have the same teacher in a subject area for two years to enhance the opportunities for connection and vertical alignment. Middle School students self-select elective courses, including physical education, traditional art, digital art, band, chorus, steel pan, creative writing, keyboarding, study skills, etc. These courses are designed to enhance the curriculum and allow students exposure to areas they might be passionate about. Every Middle School student is assigned an advisor who leads them through a specific, age-appropriate advisory curriculum focused on social-emotional learning, study skills, and academic issues. As a whole, Middle School students are not tracked into courses. However, beginning in Sixth Grade, placement is considered for both math and world language.

  • Upper School

In Upper School, the Academic Program leans into its college preparatory nature. Most courses are offered at the College Prep, Honors, and Advanced Placement (AP) levels.
Our graduation requirements exceed the minimums set by the State of Florida and the NCAA, and our students continuously perform above national norms on a variety of standardized measures. This is evidenced by a wide variety of college matriculation in Florida, nationally, and globally. As referenced in our Mission Statement, "student voice" plays an integral role in the curriculum of the Upper School. Teachers are encouraged to create opportunities for novel and enticing ways for students to demonstrate their understanding of content and develop thinking skills. In these ways, teachers work collaboratively to prepare students for the broader world.
    • UPPER SCHOOL7

The Pine School is an independent college preparatory school educating students in Kindergarten through 12th Grade.
