Debate Team Continues To Grow

The Pine School's Debate Team has enjoyed a number of significant successes.
The Pine School’s Debate Team recently completed two regional competitions in Congressional debate.  Senior Genevieve Waters, continued her winning streak in only her second competition, earning 4th place.  Junior Koda Louden also earned an impressive 4th Place.

"Our students are competing against Varsity teams from large schools with established Debate programs," explained Coach Dr. Sarah Vickers. "I am so proud of their critical thinking and speaking skills to earn these hard-fought distinctions."

In more exciting Debate news, The Pine School's chapter of the National Speech & Debate Association Honor Society held its inaugural induction ceremony. Thirteen PINE students pledged to uphold the core values of the Society's Honor Code: humility, equity, integrity, respect, leadership, and service.

“In three short years, our Debate Club has grown from five original members to currently over 20 Upper School students,” shared faculty sponsor Dr. Sarah Vickers. "Our Team promotes and advances students' critical thinking, confidence, and communication skills that they will rely upon for the rest of their lives."
